FRANKFORT, INDIANA; JUNE 13, 2014 – Exciting things are in store at Shoup’s Country Foods, including owning their first banquet facility, Arborwood.
Shoup’s has been operating and leasing the former Frankfort Country Club building since 2011 when the building was re-opened by community leaders who wanted to see it renewed alongside the golf course. Since then, Shoup’s has spent countless hours and invested immensely in renovating the building and surrounding area to turn it into a premier events and catering facility. “I am happy and proud to add Arborwood to our existing catering services,” shared Carol Shoup, co-owner and president of Shoup’s Country Foods.
On Friday, June 6, ownership by Shoup’s became official as they closed the sale with The Farmer’s Bank in Frankfort. “We are already enjoying the feeling of calling it our own,” Amy Shoup Mennen, co-owner and Vice President of Shoup’s, stated. “It is rewarding to see all of the hard work from multiple organizations lead to establishing a gathering place for all of Clinton County and the surrounding area to enjoy for many years to come.”
Shoup’s worked with many community members to begin this venture. Cohoat and O’Neal, the management group currently overseeing the Golf Preserve, worked very closely alongside the Shoup family and staff. Other community businesses and foundations were very supportive of the project, including but not limited to Mayor Chris McBarnes, The Farmer’s Bank, Clinton County Economic Advancement Foundation, Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, and the overall cooperation of city and county government officials. Shoup’s staff and family members have also contributed greatly throughout the project in many ways, transforming an older building into a newly refreshed and renovated space that reflects the hard work of all of these individuals.
Throughout the remainder of 2014, Arborwood is going to be utilized for a wedding or event almost every weekend, and is also booking extremely well for corporate and social events. Shoup’s will be hosting two public Party on the Patio events on June 27 and October 3 as well as other public events in the future that have not yet been announced. “Our ability to keep the venue in use on a regular basis is extremely important to us,” says Cindy Shoup Cacy, co-owner and Vice President of Shoup’s. “While our offsite catering business continues to be extremely busy, we are more than excited to grow closer to home.”
